1st off I would like to say thank you for checking out God’s Own Country Movie on Real-Livin.com. My name is Femi Agbayewa and I am the writer, director and producer of God’s Own Country. One of the things we (Myself and my biz partner Will Noelle) wanted to do with the blog was to provide you the audience whether you be fellow filmmakers, producers, actors, fans or observers with an arena where discussions of African Cinema could flow freely. A lot of times as a Director or creative individual people are only able to access you via your work and your work is never-ending and what tends to take place is that people receive your message from a snapshot perspective. Which translates into one piece at a time.
I wanted to let you go inside my mind where we can talk about things that are mind unraveleing so as much as this blog is about African cinema it is also about mental though process of a young African Diaspora Filmmaker, my motivations, goals etc. So I hope as you read these blogs you can see that the Pieces of a man are being bared in front of you and if you take nothing else from these entries I hope you walk away with a better understanding of what Real Livin’ films stand for (I think I just came up with an entry for further down the road). As we embark on this journey realize we are bridging the gap between African and her Diaspora and the gap between a Director and his/her audience.
Feel free to leave comments, pictures etc this is your space as much as its mine and I look forward to hearing from you.
Until then take care,
Femi Agbayewa
